Dinesh anna, our client approached us for having a quick renovation for his yoga studio. I used to be one of his regular students at his earlier center. He was looking to expand and wanted us to revamp his new yoga space. It was a temporary gypsum structure on the top floor of a commercial block in Anna Nagar. It was interesting to work on a tight budget and deliver within a span of 15 days. With the cost in mind, we were extremely calculative of
where to spend.
First, we began with branding. We designed his logo along with the whole package of visiting cards, letterhead and bill book. The design of his logo reflects some of his core principles while also being easy to remember.

The yoga space was dark and dull with broken electrical and plumbing lines. It also caught a lot of heat, being on the top floor and due to the materials used. In our design we light up the space with lime wash for the walls which also reduces the heat felt on the inside, light flooring, simple movable furniture that gives the teacher freedom to work around the space. We have used wall art, earthen elements, hand loomed fabric and gardening to accentuate the experience of this yogalaya. Most of the renovation was completed using natural materials such as cane, lime, wood, etc. in spite of the time limit and the budget constraints. 

This project would not have been possible without complete support of the client. Dinesh anna was curious and always wanted to learn the techniques of construction. He volunteered to work along with us, painting the walls, sanding the wood and applying natural oils. He was all in for experimentation. We were able to complete this project within a short budget only because of the support of the client, volunteers (Harish, Krithika, Rajakumaran, Vakadeshwari) and the other paid workers  (Srinivasan sir and his crew, Raja sir and his crew, Kuppan sir).
